Put your hands up if you love theme parks, Disney, great weather and fantastic food? Yeah, I think that’s just about everyone including myself… Imagine a fun filled day out in Florida to visit Disney World with FREE WiFi thrown in for good measure!
All Disney Parks and Resorts Offers FREE WiFi
How often can you genuinely say something is offered for FREE? Well, to my surprise a recent visit to four of the major Disney’s Theme Parks offered just that… FREE WiFi.
Four Major Disney Theme Parks with WiFi on the iPhone 5
I visited all of the Disney theme parks below and they offered FREE WiFi, I didn’t notice this advertised anywhere but after a quick check on my iPhone 5 I was soon connected to the internet and checking the queue times for the top rides.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park
- Magic Kingdom® Park
- Epcot®
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios®
How to Access the WiFi Once Inside the Theme Parks
It really was simple to setup. Using your phone, tablet or laptop. Go to the WiFi settings and select the option ‘Disney – Guest’, accept the terms and conditions and your done. Excellent for surfing the internet or checking emails while waiting in some of the longer queues.
WiFi Signal and Disney Parks Mobile Magic App
The WiFi signal will vary depending where you are in the theme parks but on the whole I found it extremely useful. I had already downloaded the Disney Parks Mobile Magic App prior to visiting Disney, which was also FREE. This app was perfect for providing an easy to use interactive map to navigate around the theme parks, especially if you didn’t want to bother with the printed map (sometimes the map on the app was a little slow depending on the WiFi signal), so keep your map handy just in case. I did find the WiFi coverage very good throughout the four theme parks I visited and would highly recommend downloading the app before your visit and just familiarise yourself with its features before arriving.
Checking Today’s Events and Queue Times
For me the most useful features of the app were the list of ‘Today’s Events’ which helped me to plan my day around some of the shows that only ran at set times during the day. There was also a really helpful list of nearby attractions which you can filter for the queue times and you can also add these to your favourites for later. Knowing all the queue times before you walk across the park to the next ride saved my legs and my time. I found the times updated regularly and were very accurate when I arrived at the ride.
A little planning combined with some FREE WiFi in the theme parks allowed me to make the most of my Disney experience. In this case it was what it said on the tin… FREE (well after you’ve bought your entrance ticket that is).
Looking for a Holiday Home to Rent in Florida with WiFi?
When choosing a holiday home to rent in Florida it was key for me to be located near to many of the attractions like Disney, SeaWorld and Universal Studios but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. I settled on renting a fabulous villa called Royal Acai Palm 1, it was within a gated community called Veranda Palms in Kissimmee. The villa was fantastic, newly built with quality furnishings, private pool, super fast WiFi and located only 5 minutes walk from the picturesque Shingle Creek Nature Reserve.
What are you waiting for? There so much to see and do in Florida 2 weeks is not enough!
