Everyone knows that once the sun starts shining in the UK (on those rare occasions it makes an appearance) talk turns to which festival you will be attending over the summer. Glastonbury is back this year and there are hundreds of other festivals ranging from small independent weekends to huge commercial events like V-Festival. But imagine not having to worry about getting covered in mud or spending the day getting soaked in a field soggy field in the UK… There are now lots of festivals worldwide that you can go to and Spain is starting to compete with the UK for the choice of festivals on offer. So why not pack your bikini and check out one of these events for a change this year…

Fear of Flying
Although air travel is widely known as one of the safest forms of transport, a surprisingly large number of people still have a fear of flying (1 in 10 people apparently). As a confident air passenger thankfully the thought of boarding a plane doesn’t fill me with dread (I’m usually just far too excited about reaching the sunny destination at the end of the flight!) Mijas in the Costa del Sol is the perfect destination for a villa holiday. It’s got everything you could possibly want or need, and has something to offer everyone. But sometimes it’s good to hire a car and explore the rest of what the Costa del Sol has to offer. If there’s one place you really have to visit, then it’s got to be Fuengirola. It’s big and it’s lively, but it’s also a beautiful place too. Fuengirola lies just 25km south west of Malaga airport half way between Malaga city and Marbella. Along with Torremolinos and Benalmadena Costa, Fuengirola is the third major tourist development on this section of Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Mijas in the Costa del Sol is the perfect destination for a villa holiday. It’s got everything you could possibly want or need, and has something to offer everyone. However, sometimes it’s beneficial to spread your wings a little further: sometimes it’s good to hire or car and get out and about. The Costa del Sol has some fabulous places to visit, and it would be a great pity not to take advantage of this and see some of the other lovely destinations. It there’s one place you should surely visit, it has to be the lovely sea-side port of Benalmadena.
