Spain is very much a family-orientated country and for this reason there is a wide abundance of parks and children’s playgrounds all along the Costa del Sol. When enjoying a beach holiday, there are always several small playgrounds dotted along the beaches and most public plazas or squares have a small playground including swings, a slide and other fun rides for the kids.
If you’ve done all the busy resorts on the Costa del Sol, like Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Marbella, it’s time to try a slightly more quiet and less travelled spot on that gorgeous coastline. La Cala de Mijas is perfect for a sun, sea and sand holiday. Originally a small and typically white-washed Andalusian village, La Cala de Mijas has grown into a great holiday destination.
A relatively short drive inland from the Costa del Sol and all its glorious beaches and resort towns, an adrenaline adventure of a lifetime awaits. While probably not the best thing for those with a fear of heights, “El Caminito del Rey” is definitely a must-see for the brave.
