Mijas in the Costa del Sol is the perfect destination for a villa holiday. It’s got everything you could possibly want or need, and has something to offer everyone. However, although there’s nothing wrong with simply enjoying all that Mijas Pueblo has to offer, sometimes it’s good to hire or car and get out and about. The Costa del Sol has some fabulous places to visit, and it would be a shame not to take advantage of this. Here are just some of the places and attractions you might like to consider visiting in and around Mijas.

If you are holidaying with children then the likelihood of being able to spend a week simply relaxing by the pool is very small! Kids need to be entertained and whilst your private pool can provide enough fun for most of the time a few days out will also be necessary no doubt. Tivoli World in Benalmadena is one of the largest theme parks on the Costa del Sol and it provides lots to do whatever your age.
Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol has gained quite a reputation for being a party resort. Not a week goes by in summer time when one celebrity or another is pictured partying at one of the many exclusive beach clubs or falling out of nightclubs in the resort. However, there is a different side to this popular holiday destination; the Old Town of Marbella is truly charming and still retains lots of the traditional charm of a typical Spanish village.
The ‘Parque Aquatico Mijas’ is a large waterpark located in a handy spot just off the N340 outside the centre of Fuengirola. It’s easily reachable within 20 minutes’ drive if you are staying in any of the resort along the coast, from Benalmadena to Marbella. The park opens annually from early may to late September and prices start at 17 Euros for children up to 23 Euros for an adult. In my opinion this is good value for a full day of waterslides, whirlpools and rapids!
