Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol has gained quite a reputation for being a party resort. Not a week goes by in summer time when one celebrity or another is pictured partying at one of the many exclusive beach clubs or falling out of nightclubs in the resort. However, there is a different side to this popular holiday destination; the Old Town of Marbella is truly charming and still retains lots of the traditional charm of a typical Spanish village.
The ‘Parque Aquatico Mijas’ is a large waterpark located in a handy spot just off the N340 outside the centre of Fuengirola. It’s easily reachable within 20 minutes’ drive if you are staying in any of the resort along the coast, from Benalmadena to Marbella. The park opens annually from early may to late September and prices start at 17 Euros for children up to 23 Euros for an adult. In my opinion this is good value for a full day of waterslides, whirlpools and rapids!

Here are some suggestions of just some of the places and attractions in and around Calahonda.
Calahonda, like many tourists destinations on the Costa del Sol has a wide variety of global cuisines on offer to suit every taste and every budget. Whether you prefer traditional Spanish cuisine, or have a penchant for Thai, African, Mexican, Asian, Italian, Greek, Indian or English food, you’re bound to find something to whet your appetite. A Day trip to Malaga
Malaga is often overlooked when it comes to great cities to visit in Spain. Thousands flock to Barcelona, Valencia and Seville for weekend breaks but Malaga doesn’t attract the huge crowds of tourists that these other cities do. On a recent trip to the popular seaside resort of Fuengirola I decided to check out Malaga for myself and see what it has to offer as a city.
